Obituary

Lyle Lee Lance, 87, longtime residence of Sedgwick Ks, passed away on  March 7, 2021 in Wichita Ks.  He was born July 29, 1933 in Roper, Ks where he was raised. He was a 1953 graduate from Fredonia High School, Fredonia Ks. He married Margaret Joan (Edwards) Lance May of 1953. She preceded him in death in 2011. A Korean war veteran, he was in the Army National Guard with the Battery C 195 th Field Artillery Battalion.

After moving to Sedgwick Ks in 1968, Lyle worked for Don Hattan Chevrolet as Service Manager, OJ Watson as Shop manager, City of Sedgwick as City Supervisor and Sedgwick Schools in Maintenance prior to retiring in 1995.  He was a member of Lions Club and American Legion.

Survivors include 4 sons, Randall Lance of Maize, Ks; Merrick 'Rick' Lance and Marcia of Olathe, Ks; Reagan Lance and April of Sedgwick, Ks; and Russell Lance of Valley Center Ks. He was preceded in death by 1 son Robyn Lance of Halstead.

Survivors also include 7 grandchildren: Kelli Lance, Joel Lance, Krystal Lance, Audra Crebs, Brittany Lance, Jack Lance and Elliott Lance.  As well as 8 great grandchildren:  Adisen and Griffin Allen, Tyler, Jason and Tristan Lance, Brynnlie and Cayson Branum, and Aleia Redington.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20, at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the First Christian Church, 514 N. Franklin Ave. #8834, Sedgwick, Ks 67135. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
