Obituary

MOUNDRIDGE, KANSAS

Lowell Gene Krehbiel , 86 of Moundridge Kansas passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 where was  surrounded by his daughters as he was greeted by the Lord. A his passing, he resided in Hesston Kansas at the Schowalter Villa home.   Lowell "Lucky" was born November 25, 1929 the tenth of eleven children of Gustav and Lydia Stucky Krehbiel. He was a graduate of Moundridge High school. Lowell married Dina Mae Hein in August, 1957 until March, 1974, from that union Lucky and Dina had five daughters.  Additionally he Married Martha "Cricket" Moody in August, 1979 until her death in September, 2010.  He is suvived by five daughters, Tamie Brush of Calico, Arkansas, Pandora Krehbiel of Arvada, Colorado, Bernadine Ames of Arvada, Colorado, Gina Krehbiel of Golden, Colorado and Sabrina Jankowsi of Thorton, Colorado; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  He is also survived by two step children Sheila and Tim and one step granddaughter, Trisha and three great grandsons.   Lucky knew how to tell a great story, deliver a good joke and always had a great sense of humor.  He had a passion for coon hunting with his blue tick hounds.  He hunted well into his late 70s.  He was a member of the Coon Hunting Hall of Fame.  He was associated with the Great Western Bluetick Kennels, Home of coon, lion and bear hounds and was well know in the industry.  Additionally, he had a passion for horses of which his pride and joy was his stud leopard appaloosa named 'Pete'.  Memorial services will be held in the Spring of 2017 with a date to be determined.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Schowalter Villa, 200 Cedar, Hesston, Kansas 67062, staff appreciation for the loving care he received there.
