Klick, Loretta Mae (Marlar), 66, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Allen County Hospital after a long battle with COPD. She was born March 2, 1947 in Fredonia, Kansas to Cecil Grant Marlar and Bessie Marie (Stauffer) Marlar. Loretta grew up in rural Woodson County. After graduating from Toronto High School in 1965, she attended Neosho County Community College. She was united in marriage to Dennis H. Klick on February 26, 1967. To this union three daughters were born. Countless hours of the family's time was devoted to 4-H. Loretta was an active 4-H leader for 25 years, teaching many children how to crochet. She was employed for many years at the sewing factory, Carters Phil mart, Hiway Foodbasket, True Value, Casey's and she loved helping out at the flower shop. Loretta enjoyed crocheting and talking with friends. However her most loved role was mother and grandma. She is preceded in death by her father Cecil, mother Bessie, grandparents Nina & Ralph Stauffer and Blanche & Harvey Marlar. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Brandon) Baker of Yates Center, Latrisha (Daniel) Larner of Bentonville, AR, and Jeania (Tom) Embry of Fort Scott, Ks; grandchildren, Bethany, Gideon, Krais and Tayla Baker and Everett Embry; sister, Marilyn (Pat) Phelan of Bay City, TX; brothers, Darrell (Peggy) Marlar of Eureka, Ks and Marvin Marlar of Yates Center, Ks. Loretta also leaves behind treasured friends who helped her to stay in her home to the very end, Linda and Jim Graham and Robert and Sandy Simmons.
