Obituary

Leslie Earl Brees, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Park City, Kansas.

He was born on May 1, 1944 in Alamosa, Colorado to Glen Edward and Minnie Darleen (Huffman) Brees.  He received a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 1967.

He worked for KDOT and in 1985 went to work for HNTB Corp. Two of his major accomplishments include his work on the seismic retrofit of the Golden Gate Bridge and in Wichita, the Kellogg Flyover.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Darleen Brees.

Les is survived by his spouse Betty June (Cervanyk) Brees of nearly 55 years; children: Kathy (John) Howard, Jennie (Mike) Ponder, and Darin (Stacie) Brees; grandchildren: Maddie (Wyatt) Ponder Clifton, Rachel Howard, Jamie Howard, Dakota Ponder, Ben Brees, and Duncan Brees; sister: Joyce (John) Brees Conlon and various nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Sunnydale Park Cemetery, 10365 N. Hydraulic Ave., Valley Center, Kansas 67147.

Immediately following the service, a late lunch will be served at Los Compadres Mexican Grill, 3213 N. Toben St., Wichita, KS 67226,  1:30 – 4 p.m., all are welcome to join the family.
