Smith, LeRoy Ralph "Leonard" , 52, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015. He was born in Great Falls, Montana to Kenneth Ralph Smith and Phyllis Gayle (Snodgrass) Smith. He was a graduate of Derby High School, Derby, Kansas. After graduation he attended Wichita Area Tech College. He was a devoted family man who loved his family. He was a hardworking and loyal employee of 22 years at Waste Connections often working very long hours to support his family. His work ethic was unmatched and he taught his daughters these ethics. He was kind and willing to give the shirt off his back if needed. He was quick to offer a beer and some tunes, that was his way of giving you a shoulder to cry on. He always showed his family the silver lining, teaching them to find good in everything. He was always ready for a good party with his family and friends; his air guitar skills were out of this world. A great Dad and proud grandpa, who will be greatly missed. LeRoy is survived by his sister Fonda Smith of Wichita; his daughters, Meagan Smith of Wichita, Savannah (Michael) Shelite of Wichita, Caitlin Smith (Tony Borg) of El Dorado, Madison Smith (Cody Stone) of Wichita; grandchildren, Ellanore, Tucker, Finnleigh, Taylor, Paige, Haleigh and Kimber; mother of his girls, Kristi Smith of Maize; his lifelong friends Robert and Janell Soell; many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Phyllis Smith and best friend Steve "Opie" Burke. Celebration of Life Service 2-5 p.m., Sunday, February 8, held at Kechi City Bldg, 220 W.
