LEON BOYD NORTHROP, 84, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. He was born in Cunningham, Kansas to Harold Thomas Northrop and Margaret Jane (McPeek) Northrop. He was a graduate of North High School and 2 yrs at Wichita State University. He married the love of his life, Joyce, on October 9, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas. He enjoyed many years working in the Aircraft Industry, 1956 -1987 at Frontier Airlines, then to Boeing Aircraft retiring in 1999. He enjoyed golfing, then watching WSU, K-State and KU. Family times of travel by RV across the states, fishing, deer hunting, and enjoying the kids and grandkids, were highlights in retirement. He is survived by his wife Joyce Northrop; children Randall (Wy Ann) Northrop of Missoula, MT, Thomas (Sandy) Northrop of Escondido, CA, Timothy (Cherryl) Northrop of Escondido, CA and Richard (Vonney) Northrop of Colorado Springs, CA; grandchildren, Natalie (Daniel), Laurie (Jason), Cody (Charlene), Alyssa (Tony), Collin, Weston, Miranda, David, Nathan and Richard Jr.; great grandchildren, Levi, Molly, Bethany, Joshua, Eivan, Chance, Liam, Dylan and Avery; brothers Dan (Teresa) Northrop of Wichita, KS and Lloyd (Connie) Northrop of Lawrence, KS; sister-in-law Carolyn Holmes of Wichita and brother-in-law Richard (Treva) Sanders of Wichita, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Margaret Northrop, sister Donna Bracken, brother-in-law Ed Bracken and niece Kim Sanders. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st N., Wichita, Kansas.
