When he was a month old his family moved to a Regier family farm near Potwin, KS. When he was six years old, his parents purchased a farm near Peabody, KS. He attended Kansas State University and developed a lifelong love for all things K-State. He married Catherine Louise Douglas on February 4, 1978 at Marion Valley United Methodist Church. To this union three children were born, Michele, Andrea, & Ben. He often said he was proud of his kids and they were his greatest legacy.
