Howes, Leland Harvey, 53, carpenter, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was born in Martin, South Dakota to Richard Harvey Howes and Bernice Elaine (Bergley) Howes. He is survived by his companion Rhonda; children Shannon (Frankie) Runnion of Augusta, Mitchell (Erin) Britt of Douglass, Debra (Vance) Cooke of Atlanta; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Peggy) Howes of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Susan (Terry) Best of Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Bernice Howes and sister, Sheila Sweet. Service 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23 at the Douglass Township Community Center, 206 S. Forest, Douglass, Ks. www.bakerfhvc.com Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center has charge.
