Obituary

WICHITA, KANSAS

LEE ROY RIEGE, 94, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018. He is a native Kansan born September 02, 1923 in Wellington to parents Jacob Henry Riege and Clarice (Kimbel) Riege. He graduated Wichita North High School in 1942 while caring for his sister Lohma Jean Riege. He married loving wife of 60 years Helen May Martin, business secretary, 50 year members of First United Methodist Downtown Wichita. Survived by his brother-in-laws, Mervin Martin of San Diego, CA and Robert Martin of Enid, OK; nieces DeAnn Swartz, Sheryl Plumley, Tammy Shaw, Diane Martin and Connie Evans; nephews, Glenn Martin, Terry Martin and Bill Hedgepath; other family and friends. Lee was a remarkable and caring man who will be missed. His legacy succeeds him as a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, position AMM 2nd class, Boeing Aircraft experimental mechanic, Convair Aircraft field mechanic, Lear Jet experimental mechanic, Cessna Aircraft flight line mechanic, retired 1986. Pleasant Valley Lion's 6 yrs. Wichita, Kansas homeowner 65 years. Multiple charities supporter including American Heart Assoc., National Breast Cancer Foundation, U.S. Firefighter's Assoc. Doctor Joseph P. Galichia tended to Lee's cardiac care needs for more than 30 years extending the life and quality of living. Services Tuesday, March 13, 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita. Graveside services following at the Bazaar Cemetery, Bazaar, Kansas.
