Schippers, Lawrence Joseph, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and business owner of Lawrence's Used Cars, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012. He was born November 14, 1932 in Colwich, Kansas, to John and Teresa Elizabeth (Pauly) Schippers. He married Yvonne Dix on November 25, 1961. He is preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers, Edward, Clarence, Jerome, Clayton, John and Francis; 4 sisters, Aletha, Dorothy, Betty and Bernice; and his daughter-in-law, Gina Schippers. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Yvonne; children, Dulcinea Hansard, Yvette (Joshua) Allfree and Joseph Schippers; grandchildren, Nathan Allfree, Bradley Martell and Kayli (Nick) Bowington; brother, Elmer Schippers; sisters, Pauline Korte, Alice Meysing and Thelma Moore; many other family and friends. Lawrence was very gifted in the Automotive business with a great love for helping others. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, at the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church, 4910 N. Woodlawn, Wichita. Burial will be held at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas 67219. Memorials may be designated to the Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, Kansas 67202. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center is handling arrangements.
