Lavern Margaret (Hladik) Bowlin, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Leonard L. Hladik and Beaulah Margaret (Snore) Hladik. Lavern was a raised in Benton, Kansas and was a graduate of Andover High School. She was a Benton Elementary School cook and retired from Wesley Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband Delbert Bowlin, son Dean Massey, parents Leonard and Beaulah Hladik. Lavern is survived by her son Chris Massey of Wichita; daughter-in-law Deanna Massey of Benton; grandchildren Jeremy (Sandy) Massey, Brandon Massey, Jason Massey and Sarah Payne; great grandchildren Brooklyn Massey and Dean Payne; sisters Lavanda Collins and Doris (Bernie) Gill, both of Benton; many family and friends. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, at Benton Cemetery, Benton, Kansas. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center is handling arrangements.
