Laurenda Marie Miller or "Red" passed away at the age of 62 on December 29, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born June 13, 1962 in Wichita, KS to Bobby Dale Rowell and Mildred Naomi Rowell (Walker). She was a life-long resident of Wichita; she attended Valley Center High School and received her GED. After finishing her education, she worked at Terrace Gardens as a dietary aide, caring for the elderly, as she did for so many others in her life.

Rodney Duane Miller won the heart of Laurenda after meeting through a friend and they married on November 1, 1986. They had their son Kenneth Lee Miller the following year. After a few years in Wichita, Laurenda moved out to Sedgwick, Kansas where she worked at Diversicare as a dietary aide for 22 years. She was a faithful wife, nurturing mother, caring grandmother, and devoted friend throughout her life. She may have been quieter and more reserved than most but underneath the few words was a heart of gold.

Laurenda loved finding new recipes to cook, bowling, macro-may, playing pool and board games, drawing, watching shows including her favorite, "The Office", and spending time with her granddaughter. In most recent years, Laurenda also loved taking care of her two Bassett Hound dogs, Pepper and Clyde, as well as helping her husband raise 4 litters of Bassett Hound pups.

She was best known for her positive attitude, being quick to forgive those who hurt her, and her infectious smile and laugh.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Mildred Rowell.

Laurenda is survived by her spouse, Rodney; son, Kenneth and his wife Brenna; along with her granddaughter Elizabeth.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, 19221 W. Maple St. Goddard, Kansas.
