LARRY JOSEPH MATZEK
, 75, of Wichita, Kansas, loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord on June 1, 2018. Visitation will be held 5pm-7pm, Thursday, June 7, and A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, June 8, both held at the Word of Life Church, 3811 N. Meridian Avenue, Wichita, Kansas. Reverend Rob Rotola will be officiating. Graveside will follow at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita. Larry was born August 22, 1942 in Andale, Kansas to George and Pauline (Hermes) Matzek. He graduated from Andale Rural High School in 1960. On September 8, 1962 he married Rose Marie Helten in Garden Plain, Kansas. Larry served his Country in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1964. Larry was an entrepreneur with a strong work ethic and owned a successful business for several years. He was never afraid to take risks. He had a great love for animals and a love of farming, watching the market and day trading. One of his favorite things to do was being on the combine. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his loving wife Rose; four sons, Troy Matzek, Paul Matzek and his wife Cindy, Tony Matzek, David Matzek; four daughters, Cindy Beasley and her husband Brent, Laurie Engle, Jackie Quarles and her husband Clint, Danielle Morrison and her husband Nathan; twelve grandchildren, his two sisters, Donna Harris and her husband Charlie, and Patricia Pierpoint.
