LANCE ERIC WRIGHT, 64, of Newton, passed away on April 10, 2016 at Halstead, Kansas after a battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1951 in Dodge City, the son of Connor R. Wright and Florene LaMunyon Wright Alder. He was the last grandson of Robert M. Wright early day founder of Dodge City. Lance grew up in Dodge City, graduating from Dodge City Senior High in 1969. Shortly after graduation he moved from Dodge City and has lived in Newton for over 30 years. Survivors include his mother Florene Alder of Newton, a son, Mathew Janson of Portland Oregon, one grandson, 4 stepsisters, 2 stepbrothers along with cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, 2:00 pm, at Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center, Kansas.
