Obituary

Kent Ray Turner, age 75, Valley Center, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, Sook Cha, by his side on Monday, January 18 th , 2021. Kent was born to Leon (Jake) and Viola (Vi) Turner on August 21, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Valley Center High School in 1963, then served proudly in the United States Navy and then the United States Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service to his country. He then moved back to his hometown, Valley Center, and helped his father farm. He then owned and operated Turner's Vending Company.

His greatest love was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. You could find him at a Valley Center football game with his family and friends. He loved watching his grandchildren at their school and sporting events and was very proud of them. He was an avid Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan and faithfully watched and cheered on the team. He was a great friend to many and was well known to tell some fun stories and share some good laughs. He especially enjoyed time with his coffee group.

Kent will always be remembered by his wife, his sons Jesse (Crystal) Turner of Valley Center, KS, and Wes (Iris) Turner of Ark City, KS  and his daughter Jerri (Alex) Cha of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Victoria, Sophie, Evan, and Brandon; brother Carl (Elaine) Turner of Valley Center, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Darla Jean (DJ); his brother, Thomas Turner; sister, Ramona Turner in infancy.

Services 10 a.m., Friday, January 29 at the First United Methodist Church, Valley Center. Graveside following at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in his memory to Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, 3450 N. Rock Rd  Bldg 200 Ste 213, Wichita, Ks 67226.
