Kenneth Paul Stiner, died peacefully at home Monday, March 2, 2026. He was born Monday, March 14, 1949 in Winfield, KS. The first son of Paul Stiner and Irene (Cole) Stiner. He graduated from Udall High School, class of 1967. Following high school, Ken attended electronic tech schools in Oklahoma and Colorado before serving with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. While on leave from his first tour of Vietnam, he and Karen Russell dated for 2 weeks and eloped before Ken returned to the war for his last tour. They were married 54 years, raising 2 children together while living in Newton, KS. Ken spent 32 years with perfect attendance, working for Southwestern Bell where he was a lineman. After retiring, he started his second career of 13 years traveling the country truck driving. His life was a testament to hard work and dedication. He spent much of his free time with family and friends, working on vehicles, listening to music and traveling the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved granddaughter, Abigail Stiner. He is survived by his wife Karen, daughter Kasha, son Kyle (Aiden), 5 grandchildren: Kole (Madison) Stiner, Jessica Motes, Treston (Bridget) Motes, Alecxia Stiner and Kenlee Stiner, 2 great-grandsons: Knox and Brooks Stiner, 4 siblings: Judi (Glenn) Hughes, Janice (Jim) Cartwright, Keith (Paula) Stiner, Jeanette (Luther) Alexander, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kyle Stiner for the Abigail Elaine Stiner Scholarship fund, 2810 29th St, Great Bend KS 67530.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 3 to 5 pm at the Baker Funeral Home (100 S Cedar Ave Valley Center, KS 67147). A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
