VALLEY CENTER, KANSAS

KATHLEEN DANA (SINGERS) TRIPLITT "KATIE", 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Valley Center, Kansas, with family surrounding her. She was born in Valley Center in 1927 to Cadet W. and Mabel (Perkins) Singers. She graduated from Valley Center High School in 1945. Katie earned a business degree and worked as a secretary for several businesses through the years, Van Gundy Insurance, Fitzgerald Insurance, and Stauffer Cleaners, issuing car tags and doing alterations. In 1947, she married Charles Floyd 'Trip' Triplitt. They started their family and Katie became active in her children's lives and service for her Lord. She taught Sunday School and Bible Studies her entire adult life. She inspired the lives of many young girls through Girl Scouting. Katie enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, making candles, painting and selling her pictures at the Fall Festival. She and Trip moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1987, where she was manager of Temple Heights Manor for 20 years and retired at age 80. In 2011, she moved back to Kansas. Katie loved her family and her Lord. She is survived by her children Dana and Ray Sledge of Valley Center, Cheryl and Jeff Adams of Kansas City, Missouri, Kristy and David Huff of Valley Center, Cadet and Olivia (Navarro) Triplitt of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Aaron) Wolff, Nellie (Andy Picek) Sandoval of Valley Center, Sarah (David) Wagner of Lee Summit's, Missouri, Rebekah (Brian) Herzog of Olathe, Kansas, Denae Huff, Darcy Huff, Deidre (Christ) Booher of Valley Center, Steven (Lisa) Brooke of Wentsville, Missouri, Raquel (Timothy) Triplin of Blue Springs, Missouri, Hunter (Alec) Johnston of Grain Valley, Missouri; 15 great grandchildren, Ariel, Alexis, Austin, Gabby, Isaac, Emmett, Haylie, Justus, Kiersten, Joe, Chloe, Magavin, Abby, Millie and Claire; many other family and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 25, at Grace Connections Church, 300 N. Ash, Valley Center, Kansas with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside will follow the service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1824 N. Oliver, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with Serenity Hospice Care, 9415 E. Harry Ste 302, Wichita, Ks 67207. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center is assisting the family.
