Karen Larita (Brown) Barnett, 62, passed away, Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was born in Newton, Kansas to Naaman O. Brown and Ella Marie (Gravelin) Brown. Karen was a 1970 graduate of Valley Center High School. She worked at the Sandwich Shop as a cook and retired as a Director at the Sedgwick Lillian Tear Library. She is survived by her husband Kenneth Barnett; sons Jason (Sherry) Barnett of Knoxville, TN and Matthew Barnett of Valley Center; grandchildren Coleton Barnett, Christian Barnett, Alyssa Quiring and Austin Quiring; brothers Lonnie Brown of Newton and Charlie Brown of Walton. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Monday, August 11 and Services 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, both held at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Memorials to the Lillian Tear Library, 501 Commercial, Sedgwick, Ks 67135. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center is handling arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
