Obituary

Judith Ann (Brown) Dellinger 81 passed away on Monday, April 26 th , 2021 in Wichita Kansas.  She was born January 30 th , 1940 in Lanagan Missouri to Earl W. Brown and Gladys H. (Moffett) Brown.  She was a graduate of Noel High School.  She attended college at Pittsburg State University where she graduated with a degree in elementary education.  After graduation, she married Dean E. Dellinger, on June 18 th , 1961.  Throughout their marriage of almost 60 years, they lived primarily in Valley Center where Judy taught third grade at West Elementary School for 32+ years.  Through her career in teaching, Judy touched the lives of many young children.   She loved to read to her students, spark their creativity through art, and help them through the challenges of learning multiplication facts and how to write in cursive.

Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valley Center where she served as organist for 57 years. Judy was a charter member of the Valley Players where she could be found helping construct sets and prompting actors from the pit.   She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 41 years where she held numerous offices on the local and state level.  Judy enjoyed crocheting, cross-stich, and spending time with family (especially her two grandsons).

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Earl Brown, Gladys (Moffett) Brown Boehne, and Oscar Boehne (stepfather).

Judy is survived by her husband Dean; daughters Jolene Maltz (Jonathan), Kimberly Dellinger; grandsons Cameron and Braden Maltz, all of Valley Center.

Visitation 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, April 29, and Services 10:00 am, Friday, April 30, both will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas. Graveside will follow the service at the Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, 9638 N. Meridian, Valley Center.
