Judith Fern Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025.

Born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Judy married the love of her life, Ralph Anderson, and together they built their life on the South Side of Chicago before moving to Kansas more than 20 years ago—a move they always said they wished they had made sooner.

Judy was a devoted mother to Cary Anderson (Christine) of Wichita and John Anderson (Lisa) of Oak Forest, IL. She was the proud grandmother of Stephanie (Justin), Kathryn (Ryan), and Zachary, and a great-grandmother to six, all of whom brought her endless joy.

Though trained as a nurse, Judy's true calling was people. She spent decades in management and retail, admired for her humor, warmth, and salesmanship. Even after "retiring" more than once, she joyfully worked part-time until age 84.

Fun, feisty, and wise, Judy was known for her strength, her generous spirit, and for giving the "Full Judy"—a moment of honesty, wit, and sparkle in her eye that left no doubt where she stood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 5, 3:00 p.m. at Derby Library, Derby, KS. Refreshments to follow.
