Joyce (Tolbert) Freeman, 85, reunited with her previously departed family members on December 31, 2024 while surrounded by her loved ones. Our beautiful mother was born December 9, 1939 to Elmer and Thelma. She was a proud older sister to Joann and to her brother-in-law, Fred Boston. Joyce was a loving mother to her three children, Greg, Steve, and Susie Camfield. She adored her 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

In 1973, she made the decision to join the Wichita Police Department where she worked dutifully for 20 years and 3 months. She described the best thing about being a police officer as the privilege to intervene in someone's life in a way that turns them back towards the right path. While working as a police officer she met her husband, Jesse Freeman. A farm girl from the beginning, Joyce was able to enjoy her retirement watching her crops grow. Simply put, Joyce loved her life and loved her family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
