WICHITA - Wolfe, Joseph A., 69, on June 15, 2012, we lost our father, Opa, husband and friend. Joe was a true renaissance man: his gifts of languages, photograpy, poetry and music will be missed. Joe taught French at the University of Iowa and Wichita State. He was a professional photographer, worked at Moler's Camera and enjoyed his last years in retirement. His unique sense of humor was a gift to us all. he was adored by his grandsons: Nigel, Seamus, Jacob, Joshua, Joseph and his adopted grandchildren: Anneke, Chris and Anneke T. Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine. Survivors include his father, Allen Wolfe; sister, Anne Benjamin; aunt, Margaret; daughter, Marieke Wolfe, M.D. (Scott Murphy); son, Ian Wolfe (Teresa); his Dutch family and his wife of 48 years, Ineke. A Celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Fairmount United Church of Christ, 1650 Fairmount Street. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at Legacy Ministries, Inc., 875 Spaulding, Wichita, KS 67203. (An art and music ministry to youth in detention in Wichita.)
