Robison, Joseph O. Harrison, 92, retired Boeing welder and jig builder and owner of American Wall Paneling Outlet, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born in Nampa, Idaho to Joseph Frank Harrison and Olive Iona (Hunt) Harrison. His father passed when Joe was 4 months. He moved with his mother to Bazine, Kansas and then to Ness City where his mom met and married Roy G. Robison who became "Dad" to Joe. He learned his dad's trade of being a blacksmith and welder, which carried him through life. In 1937, Joe graduated from Ness City High School. He married Helen Irene Jaehde on January 28, 1939 in Ness City, KS. Joe moved his family to Wichita where he worked at Boeing for years and was a welder in tooling and worked on building jigs. He also owned and operated a Trailer Park and the American Wall Paneling store, both on north Broadway. He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. His family lived in Park City and then built a home in Valley Center where his airplane hangar was right behind the house. His love of planes and flying continued until he could no longer see well enough to pass the requirements. Joe is survived by his children, Tom & Marty Robison of Gold Canyon, AZ, and Jon and Pat Robison of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Jodi and Kelly Atkins, Jennifer and Matt Johnson, Becky and Jim Fletcher, Lucas and Michelle Robison; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Fletcher, Sydney Johnson, Logan Johnson, Audry Johnson, Blake Atkins, Brady Atkins, and Amelia Robison who is about to arrive. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Helen Irene Robison, son, William "Bill" Robison, father, Joseph Harrison, and parents, Roy and Olive Robison. Service 2:00 p.m. to be held Friday, July 6, at Grace Connection Church, 300 N. Ash, Valley Center. Graveside Service 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 7, at Ness City Cemetery.
