John "Drew" Hamilton, Wichita, KS, 77, beloved son, brother, husband, dad, Pipa, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Janice Hamilton; his daughters, Jamie (Andrew) Haig of Wichita, KS, Julie (Dino) LaPaglia of Westlake Village, CA, and Jodie Hamilton of Bellevue, Idaho; his grandchildren, Jordan (Taylor) Haig of Wichita, KS, Micaela (Marshall) Miller of Andover, KS, Maddy (Kaleb) Calderwood of Wichita, KS, Gianna LaPaglia, Westlake Village, CA; great grandsons, Oliver and Benjamin Haig of Wichita, KS, and Callan Miller of Andover, KS; sisters, Denise Baker of Richardson, TX, and Deb (Jeff) Stafford of Spokane, WA, along with nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Don and Helen Hamilton, and brothers Doug Hamilton and Mark Hamilton.
Drew was a graduate of Valley Center High School. He attended the University of Kansas where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Drew served in the United States Air Force and then later went on to a career at L.D. Supply, a company his father started. While attending KU, he was a member of the track team and later reconnected with his former KU track buddies, often traveling to Lawrence for track reunions and meets. He was also an avid tennis player and played several times a week. Drew made friends everywhere he went and could always find a way to connect with people. He was never short of good conversation.
Drew will be remembered most for his love of family. He cherished time spent together and doing fun activities. He spent many hours traveling to see those he loved, laughing and telling stories. He was always there to lend a helping hand and teach a new skill to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
A celebration of Drew's life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 560 N. Park, Valley Center, Kansas on Friday, December 20, 11:00 am.
