John Wesley Crego, Jr. was born on August 27, 1939, and passed away on January 21, 2025, following a lengthy illness. He attended West High School in Wichita and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Journalism. John was a devoted fan of the Kansas State Wildcats.

He was a retired member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #441. In his later years, John became an ordained minister and devoted himself to serving local care homes and penitentiaries.

John had a passion for fishing and was an amateur photographer who loved capturing the beauty of the Kansas landscape.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Allen Crego; his parents, John and Edith Crego; and his sister, Patsy Burdine.

John's memory lives on through his survivors: his daughter, Sandy Louise Crego; his brother, Richard Lee Crego; and his sister, Joan (Jody) Dodds. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as his very special "adopted family," Sylvia Wiley and Scott Camp.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 6227 N. Longmont, Park City, Kansas, 67219.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Calvary Assembly of God Church.
