Obituary

JOAN M. ROGERS Joan, pronounced "Jo Ann" was born May 16, 1931 in Fulton, KS to Fredrick Truman Milburn and Juna Lee Milburn. Joan was married to the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Gene Rogers from May 1, 1948 until his death in 2013. Together they raised five children: Linda, Kay, Steve, Jeff, and Lisa.
Joan is survived by four of her children ... her daughter Linda Michael, daughter Kay Rhynes her husband David, son Steve and his wife Diane, son Jeff, son-in-law John Hayes (husband to Lisa who passed away just last year); grandchildren: Tim Michael and wife Joy, Jeremey Michael, Andrew Rhynes, Chris and Tahne Rogers, Bobby Rogers, Jerod Rogers, Danny and Katie Hayes, Emily Hayes, Robbie and Lauren Hayes; g reat grandchildren: Reece Michael, Connor Rhynes, Evelyn, Ella and Edie Hayes, Tobi, and Noah Hayes; m any nieces and nephews all dearly loved.
Family and friends share great stories of conversations with this amazing lady around that oak pedestal table of hers (just ask her niece Gail). She loved her family and friends with a passion. She loved those conversations ... not only was she a good listener but she also was never bashful about sharing her opinions. She affected our lives in a powerful way. She will be missed so much. Joan was just a bit over 80 pounds but she was a FORCE. She was a cancer survivor, Covid-19 survivor and fought other health issues including heart failure.
Very recently she shared that she could not get a song she learned as a child in Sunday School out of her head. That song is: JESUS WANTS ME FOR A SUNBEAM
We know where you are now, Mom, Granny, Aunt, friend. We love you! It gives us a lot of peace knowing that you are now indeed a sunbeam for Jesus!
Joan would love any memorial gifts to be made to Home Health & Hospice of Kansas instead of flowers. The family will have a small memorial gathering at a later date. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as her family celebrates her life.
