Jerry Lynn Pond, 78, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014. He was born in El Dorado, Kansas to Elmer Edwin Pond and Una Betsey (Holt) Pond. He worked in aircraft and was a pilot. He is survived by his wife Jeannette Pond of the home; children, Terri Bell of Clinton, AR, Teresa Hawthorne of Van Buren, AR, Sheryle Parks of Sedgwick and Jeannette Robbins; 6 grandchildren; sisters Sue Morris and Linda Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Una Pond, and brother Gene Pond. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, at the First Baptist Church of Leon, 314 N. Main, Leon, Kansas. Memorials may be designated in his memory to Caring Hands Animal Shelter, 1400 SE Third, Newton, Kansas 67114. Baker Funeral Home, Valley Center is handling arrangements.
