Janice May (Broadsword) Luther, 90, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020. She was born in Wichita, Kansas, where she attended school and graduated. After graduation she attended Kansas University and was in the Beta Signa Fi & Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.  Janice retired from USD 259 after many years of sharing her love for Music and teaching  others to find that love also. She was a long time member of the Valley Center First United Methodist Church where she started the Bell Choir and also in the Vocal Choir. She was the first President of the McCormick School Museum, also. She loved playing bridge and being with her family and friends.

Janice was preceded in death by her mother Katheryn Amelia Mayberry, and her husband John Van Luther.  She is survived by her daughter Julie Ricke, son Gary Ferguson, 3 step daughters, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, other family and many friends.
