Gornick, Janice Marie, 69, died Friday, October 27, 2011. She was born in Chandler, Oklahoma to George "Otto" and Dorothy Simpson. She is survived by her husband, Jim Gulick, Sr.; daughter, Mary (John) Horsch; grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob; sisters, Elaine (Jimmie) Pruitt and Sarah Engel; five stepchildren; several step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; as well as many friends, former colleagues, and students. She was preceded in death by her son Dean; her parents; brothers, Donald and Gene. Janice taught English at East High School for twenty-six years and served as chairperson of the English Department for the last several years of her career. A gathering of family and friends will be in the Fellowship Hall at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church, 3700 E. Mt. Vernon, Wichita, Saturday, October 29, 11:00 to 1:00.
