Janet Lee (Schroeder) Davis  gained her angel wings on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, peacefully at her home. She was born on October 27th, 1952, in Goessel, Kansas to parents Howard Wayne and Delia Bernice  (Huxman) Schroeder.  She was joined by her brothers Stanley (Stan) and Terry Schroeder.  Janet graduated from Newton (KS) High School in 1970 and went on to graduate from a Wichita cosmetology school in 1971.  She married Herman Lee (H.L.) Davis on April 3rd, 1971 and had two children: Chris Davis and Sherri Davis-Garcia. They lived in Perryton, TX, until 1978, when they were divorced.  She married Mike Blackmon on April 15, 1978 and moved to Grannis, Arkansas and divorced in 1990.  Janet had a paralyzing car accident in 1985 and then moved to Newton, Kansas to be closer to her family.  She became a certified childcare provider and worked at a day care center in Hesston, Kansas until November 1998, before moving to Wichita, Kansas.  She enjoyed being a customer service representative for two catalog call centers in Wichita.  She was an outbound telemarketer for 7 years and an inbound sales representative until she retired in 2023.

Her hobbies included reading her Bible, flowers, animals, music, candles, melaleuca herbal supplements, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Wayne Schroeder (deceased October 9, 2000); mother, Delia Bernice (Huxman) Schroeder (deceased December 13, 2022); brother, Terry Allen Schroeder (deceased September 23, 2023).

Janet is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Rebecca Davis and grandchildren Austin and Dixie Leigh Davis, daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Ted Garcia and granddaughter Gabrielle Lynn Garcia; her brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Elizabeth Schroeder; along with nephews and nieces  Eric (Sarah) Schroeder, Lindahl (Kyle) Galle, Catherine (Seth) Taylor, and Daniel (Emilee) Schroeder, and their families; many other family and friends.

Janet loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed long talks over the phone and sending text messages to her family and friends. She was a long-standing and devoted member of the Heritage Family Church in Wichita, Kansas. She enjoyed fellowship and outreach to young adults. She is remembered for her kindness, love and her positive outlook on life.

Viewing and visitation with the family will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 14, 2025.  The service will be 11:00 am both held at Heritage Family Church, 3840 N. Seneca in Wichita, KS.  Graveside will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.
