Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James 'Roscoe' Taylor of Valley Center, Kansas. He passed away April 3, 2024 at the age of 85 years. All friends and family knew him as Roscoe.

Roscoe was predeceased by his parents, James Andrew and Hattie (Wilson) Taylor; one brother and four sisters.

Roscoe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Cecelia; his sons, JR Taylor (Jane) and John Taylor; his daughters, Susan Roberts (Jim), Lisa Wright (Al), and Teresa Adamus. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Josh, Tiffany, James, Austin, Jordan, Joshua, Victoria, Kelsey and Brooke and 17 great grandchildren.

Roscoe was a life-long resident to the Maize, Kansas area. Growing up, he worked at International Harvester, Certified Bakery, followed by a long career at Fleming Foods, and later working for Sedgwick County, where he retired.

He leaves behind many friends and family that have been blessed to know him. Roscoe was always ready to help out wherever needed.

Roscoe was a long time member of the Midian Shrine and the Newton Masonic Lodge. Roscoe was the Wagon Master of the Nomad camping group for many years, creating life long memories for all campers and guests.

Visitation 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Friday, April 19 at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center, Kansas.

Funeral Service 10:00 am, Saturday, April 20 at Pathway Church, 2001 N. Maize Rd, Wichita, Kansas. Graveside service for immediate family only, to follow.
