WICHITA, KANSAS

JAMES LEROY SHAPEL, 82, passed away on November 2, 2015. He was born in Iola, Kansas to Philip and Fannie Mae (Looney) Shapel. He was in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked as a Plumber in the construction business for most of his life. He is survived by his wife Barbara Shapel of the home; children Philip Shapel of Wichita, Theresa Startzma of Valley Center; grandchildren Mistie Vaughn, Marisa McNeil, Shaun Shapel, Jesse Shapel, Jeremy Shapel; great grandchildren Danny Anderson, Garrett O'Hara and Sophia Vaughn; sister Phyllis Bullard of Marion, South Carolina; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Fannie Shapel. Services will be held Monday, November 16, 10:00 a.m. at Kansas Veteran's Cemetery, 1208 N. College, Winfield, Kansas 67156.
