James A. Gordon, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. He was born Tuesday, October 28, 1947.

James was a proud husband, veteran, and retired glassmaker who spent many years working in California. He was known for his strong work ethic, devotion to family, and caring heart.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gordon, sister Mary Anne Nisley, brother Butch Gordon, daughter Darling Crow and husband Dave Crow, son James Gordon and wife Sarah Gordon; grandchildren Christopher Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Travis Franklin, Brandon Franklin, Daniel Franklin, Samantha Gordon, James “Jimmy” Gordon, Jaxon Gordon, and Sophia Gordon; several great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John “Jack” and Madge Gordon; his son, Duane Hylton; brother, Butch Gordon, sisters Deanne Gordon and Carol Jean Goldsmith. 

James will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
