JAMES GLENDON ELGIN
, 94, retired Boeing Aircraft Tool Engineer, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was born in Fort Bragg, California to Hurley and Ada (Benedict) Elgin. He enjoyed doing woodworking, metal, inventing and creating. His greatest love was genealogy and family history. He wrote the Elgin Family History Book and many other family books. James is survived by his wife of 69 years, Cecilia Elgin; children LeeAnn (Al) Shnayer, Gail Johnson, Richard (Glenda) Elgin, and Ronald (Janice) Elgin; grandchildren Elizabeth (Jerry) Lower, Rebecca McClure, Christopher Johnson, Alison (Nate) Peak, Dana Reynolds, Johna Elgin, Riley Elgin, Ronald Elgin, Jr., Chasitty Elgin and Jeremy (Shannon) Wilkerson; great grandchildren Tyler (Alicia) McClure, Trenton McClure, Trista McClure, Jordan Lower, Ethan Lower, Kaytlin Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Audrey Elgin, Riley Wilkerson and Lane Wilkerson; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Lynn Reynolds, his parents, his sisters Audry Montre, Evaleen Witherspoon and Jean Lirette.
Memorials may be designated in his memory to the Midwest Historical & Genealogical Society, 1203 N. Main St., Wichita, Ks 67203. Service 11 a.m., Saturday, September 15, at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Graveside at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
