JAMES "JIM" LOREN DOCHOW, 82, retired lineman for Southwestern Bell, left his earthly home to claim his reservation in heaven on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Jim was born on a farm in Eureka, Kansas to Ernest and Leona Dochow. He was a fast runner, excelled in track at Eureka High School and set state records in low hurdles when he attended Wichita State University. After attending college, Jim enlisted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim married his high school sweetheart Thelma "Darlene" Reed Dochow and to this union, three children were born. They lived and raised their children in Park City, Kansas. She preceded him in death. He is also preceded by his parents Ernest and Leona Dochow and his son James Michael "Mike" Dochow. Jim is survived by his brother Jack Dochow; his children, Kim (Richard) Schock; Gary (Ronda) Dochow; grandchildren, Alisa Smith, Josh (Devin) Smith, Erin Smith, Tim Smith, Mackenzie Smith,Katlyn Smith, Ernie Dochow, Brian (Amber) Dochow, Christopher Dochow, Crystal (Patrick) Eason, Nova Dochow, Cody (Holly) Dochow, Lauren Schwab, Kristen Schwab; great grandchildren Devin, Jacob, Reagan, Kennedy, Ava, Wrigley, Kaiden, Jaelynn, Alaze, many nieces, nephews, and other family. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3 at Kechi United Methodist Church, Kechi. Memorials may be designated in his memory to the Kechi United Methodist Church, 4533 E. 61st N., Kechi, Kansas 67067. Private Family burial will take place at Eureka Cemetery, Eureka, Kansas.
