Jack Roland Townsley, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater, Kansas. He and his wife Elizabeth lived in Valley Center, Kansas many years. Jack served on the Valley Center City Council from 1991 to 1995. He retired from Beech Aircraft in 1987 after 36 years. Jack was born in April 27, 1924 at Kincaid, Kansas; he was the only child of Rolland Cyrus Townsley and Opal Leona "Ti Ti" (McElvain) Townsley. He married Anna Elizabeth Harris, October 17, 1942 in Moran, Kansas. Elizabeth preceded him in death on January 5, 2013. Jack and Elizabeth were 1942 graduates from Moran High School in Moran, Kansas. Upon graduation Jack enlisted in the United States Merchant Marines serving to the end of World War II. Jack and Elizabeth were married 70 years, and to this union were three children: Roland Townsley, Katherine Townsley and Connie Townsley. That had three sons-in-law, Edward Carraway, Thomas Davis and Steven Holden. They were blessed with six grandchildren, Eric Townsley, Shawn Townsley, Vance Davis, Shannon Davis, Casey Holden and Phillip Holden; 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 20 at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 21 at Valley Center Memorial Cemetery, Valley Center, Kansas.
