Hays, Jack Truman, 80, retired Sedgwick County Division Chief Firefighter, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Raymond Carl Hays and Dorothy Modesta (Keene) Hays. He is a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hays; daughters, Sherry (Dan) Murphy of Wichita and Lori (Brian) DeWeese of Overland Park; sons, Mike (Brenda) Rogers of Inman and Jack (Charisa) Hays of Valley Center; grandchildren, Tori DeWeese, Brina DeWeese, Dalton DeWeese, Crystal (Brent) Smith, Brandy (Josh) Noone, Lottie Hays, Desarae Hays, Braden Hays, Marissa Hays, Amber Murphy and Briana Murphy; great grandchildren, Jayden Hays-Murphy, Jacie Irvin, Logan Fisher, Gavin Fisher, Savannah Smith, Cheyenne Smith and Alexis Noone; sisters, Irma (Ray) Jacoby of Wichita and June Heymann of New Orleans, LA. He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond C. Hays, mother, Dorothy Wallin and brother, Raymond "Sonny" Hays. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, Service 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 21, both will be held at Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. Fifth, Valley Center. Burial following the service at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated to the Kansas Firefighters Museum, 1300 S.
