JACKIE  'JACK'  LYNN  BATES, 61, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 after a hard battle with cancer. He was born in Conway, Arkansas to Palmer 'Lee' and Montie Bates. He was a graduate of Heights High School in Wichita, Kansas. Jack was a Machinist and worked at the Love Box Company for 39 years. He was a hard worker and enjoyed many hobbies as well as collecting baseball cards and watches. He spent many years playing tennis fulfilling his passion for the sport. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke with his friends. Yet most of all he was a kind, loving husband and wonderful father to his sons enjoying the time he spent with them. He is survived by his wife Chelsey; children, Christopher (Sonya) Bates, Donald Bates, Dylan Ketron and Dalton Bates; grandchildren, Waylin, Kaitlyn, Seth, Jace and Gage; sisters, Cheryl Bates and Pamela Pendleton; in-laws: Brenda Hipps, Ronnie Ketron, Shane Ketron, Emmet Hipps, Steve Hipps, Sarah Hipps, Lou Sears, many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Dawn Bates, parents Lee and Montie Bates. Visitation 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 11 and Service 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 12, both will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
