IVA CHARLENE (BATTEN) YATES, 76, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, was carried home in the arms of Jesus on May 14, 2016 in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Polk County, Missouri to Clifford Delmar and Naomi Marie (Calhoun) Batten. She met and married the love of her life J. 'Bert' Yates. She loved and enjoyed helping others, yet cherished time with her family. She is survived by her husband Bert Yates; her children Jeffrey (Wendy) Yates and Laura (Juan) Ramirez, all of Valley Center; grandchildren Aaliyah (Everett) McGee, Destiny Olivares, Jasmine Olivares; twin brother James (Glenda) Batten of Morrisville, MO, sisters Billie (Ramon) Dominguez of Los Angeles, CA and Carol Standley of Bentonville, AR; many other family and friends.
