Barker, Ida Mae (Shipler), 88, retired Medical Insurance clerk, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013. She was born in Sylvia, Kansas to Curtis Carl Shipler and Clara Leota (McAtee) Shipler. She married H. W. "Bill" Barker. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1987. Ida Mae loved working for Dr. Robert Koster and Dr. Russell Horn where she retired in December, 2011. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a longtime member of the Eastern Star with her 50 year pin. She greatly loved her work, family, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her cousin Francis Hess of Sylvia; special friends, Portia Martin of Valley Center, Sandy McKown of Hutchinson, Troy and Marchele Wells of Valley Center, Dr. Russell Horn and staff of Valley Center. Visitation 3-5 p.m., Sunday, December 1; Services 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 2, both will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center.
