Hoffine, Homer Chester , 71, after a long courageous fight with cancer, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September, 1 2011, at his home. Homer was a residential contractor in Wichita. He was born April 8, 1940, in Augusta, Kansas, to Clause Leroy Hoffine and Orpha Dell (Taber) Hoffine. He is survived by his wife Joyce; son's, Shadwick of Tulsa, OK, Derek of Coral Springs, FL, Lance of Wichita, KS, and Quincy of Broomfield, CO; daughter, Carmen of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Shandler of Caney, KS, Miles and Lila of Coral Springs, FL, Elijah of Wichita; sisters, Rita Cummings, Ruth Ann Bolton, Rosemary Woodson, Marjorie Cramer and Carol Hearne; brother, James (Sharon) Hoffine; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Dustin Evan, his parents, brothers, Bud, Ellis, Ray and infant brother John David. Services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Riverview Baptist Church.
