Obituary

Hillard Wilson, 66 passed away on July 12, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas surrounded by many of his loved ones.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Hillard and Anita Wilson, where he grew up and attended South Boston High School. Jim, as his many friends and family know him most by, also spent time in the Air Force before settling down in Wichita with his wife of 43 years, Kathy.

Jim loved to fish, just like his father. He enjoyed taking vacations to see new things and spending time with family. He could fix about anything, and had a talent for woodworking, trim carpentry, and building custom decks.

Most of all Jim loved to make those around him feel good. He would always brighten a room with his presence, wonderful smile, and quietly powerful voice that never lost that endearing Boston accent. Even in his last days and in spite of his pain and discomfort, he was still joking around and went out of his way to put a smile on everyone's face.

Jim will be dearly missed, and the world will not be quite the same place without him here, but heaven just got a little better with the addition of its newest resident.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brother Bobby, sister Carol, wife Kathy, sons Jeremy, Hillard, and Justin, and daughter Amy and his 13 grandchildren children, who he loved dearly.

Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17 at the Reliance Community Church, 11910 W. Pawnee, Wichita, Ks 67215.
