Helene Irene (Curtis)McKay, of Wichita, Kansas, 58, former Floral Designer, beloved wife, daughter, sister, niece and friend, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011. She was born in Yale, Oklahoma to H. Murray and Waneta Curtis. She was raised in the El Dorado area and attended Butler County Community College. She became a noted Florist of 25 years in El Dorado and Wichita. She, also, was an accomplished amateur artist, photographer, potter, and an active member of the Wheat State Falcons FCA Car Club. Helene is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clifford "Bill" McKay; stepson, James (Maria) McKay of Cleveland, OH; mother, Waneta McCullough of El Dorado; brother Edwin (Pat) Curtis of El Dorado; sister, Elizabeth Morton of Augusta; uncle, F. D. Curtis of OK. She is preceded in death by her father, Murray Curtis and sister, Lora Faye "Frankie" Curtis. Visitation 5-7, Friday, Sept. 2, at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Services 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Country Acres Baptist Church, 8810 W. 10th N., Wichita. Burial following the service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 12002 W. 109th St. N., Bentley.
