HELEN MARIE (SHIELDS) MCKINLEY,
86, beloved mother, grandma and friend, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born in Gravette, Arkansas to Grover Cleveland Shields and Maggie (Duncan) Shields. She married the love of her life, Norris C. McKinley, on December 12, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1950 and spent most of their life time in this area, moving to Sedgwick, Kansas in 1964. She was a co-owner with her husband of McKinley's Trailer Park, commercial lawn service and upholstery shop. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidering. She enjoyed fishing, traveling and visiting with family and friends. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her children, Greta (Richard) Hagen of Sedgwick, KS, Loretta (Rikkie) Phillips of Mt. Juliet, Norris (D'Ette) McKinley of Cleveland, OK, Paul McKinley of Grove, OK, Peggy (Rick) Brown of Sedgwick, KS, and Pamela (Chris) Freeman of Bentley, KS; 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Mildred Bates, and Goldie Jones and one sister-in-law, Doris June Shields. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Grover & Maggie Shields; brothers Joe Shields, Grover Shields, Fred Shields, Raymond Shields, Richard Shields and Lester Shields; sisters Clara Cramer, Nomie Shields, Florence "Bonnie" Jones, and Ollie Saunders. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 8th at First Christian Church (Annex Building), 514 N. Franklin Ave., Sedgwick, KS. No graveside service on this date.
