SEDGWICK, KANSAS


HELEN MARIE (MUSSER) BROOKS, 97, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017. She was born in Woodstock, Illinois to Joe and Bertha (Roser) Musser. You would find her reading her Bible, listening to Christian Music and doing church work of any kind. She loved traveling, even doing mission trips to Haiti and Russia. She sponsored a young man from Haiti all the way through adulthood. Yet the greatest joy she had was spending time with family. She is survived by her daughters Joyce (William) Blunck of Sedgwick, Judy Walker of Nebraska, Marcia (George) Boone of Sugarmill Woods, Florida and Bonnie (William) Wright of Texas; 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 45 great great grandchildren, many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband James Alvin Bird, second husband Carl Brooks, her son James Leroy Bird, grandson James Bird, her parents, her siblings Elizabeth 'Betty' Briscoe, Joseph Musser, Caroline Bartman, Andrew 'Andy' Musser, George Musser and Robert 'Bobby' Musser. Graveside service 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, at White Chapel, 1806 N. Oliver, Wichita. A Celebration of her Life will be following the graveside at the Haysville Community Center .
