Harriett Ellen Ducey, 81, of Valley Center, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Walter Edwin Lindsey and Harriet Louise (Kilbane) Lindsey. She was a 1959 graduate of Kansas City Central High School, then attended KU where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Harriett taught Science for USD 259 where she enlightened students for twenty-five years. With her love for teaching she also taught swimming.

Her greatest passion and love were horses and dogs. She loved not only spending time with them, but with great patience of training and showing them across the nation with some becoming National Champions. Harriett also had a passion for gardening and growing tomatoes, also selling some of her tomato plants.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Mary Handley.

Harriett is survived by her her partner Robert 'Bob' Davis; children Jimmy Ducey of Wichita and Cindy Ducey of Newton; granddaughter Alexandria Ducey of Independence, MO; sister Vicky Bayless of Raytown, MO; nephews Stacy Bayless of Kansas City, MO, Robert Triplett of Richland, MO and Raymond Triplett of Lebanon, MO; many other family and friends.

Visitation 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Service, Friday, March 3, held at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Graveside following at the Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita.
