HAROLD LYLE BLUE 'LYLE'

92 years old, retired Valley Center Kwik Shop owner, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Newton, Kansas. He was born in Shelton, Nebraska to Chester Allen Blue and Bernice Aleeta (Derby) Blue. He married Illene (Landburg) Blue and enjoyed having her work with him at the Kwik Shop down through the years. Lyle also enjoyed working for USD 259 and Child Start, finally retiring at the age of 85. He always enjoyed people and loved all his jobs as he interacted with each person he met. If you wouldn't give him your name then you were nicknamed 'Charlie'. His smile, laughter and caring personality warmed so many hearts. He is survived by his children Connie (William 'Butch') Shafer, John Blue, Linda Cash and Allen (Elizabeth) Blue; 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren; brother Gary Blue; many other family and friends. He is also preceded by his wife Illene Blue, children Patti Jo, twins Terry and Deanne Blue, granddaughter Tammy Cash, sister Nadine Benson, brothers Virgil and Darrell. Services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, January 16 at Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. Fifth, Valley Center. Memorials may be designated in his name to the National MS Society or the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Private Family Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery, Kearney, Nebraska.
