GORDON ALAN FOUTCH , 91, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Howard Earl Foutch and Jessie Vivin (Robinson) Foutch. Gordon was a 1946 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a 3 sport athlete during high school, he excelled in football, wrestling and track. He was named to many all conference teams. After graduation he enlisted into the U.S. Army. As a World War II Veteran, he received the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1948. Gordon then attended Oklahoma State A&M (now OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Carolyn. She is the daughter of George and Bea Jacob of Bentley, Kansas. Gordon and Carolyn were married in 1952 and moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where they raised their family. Gordon worked in construction masonry as a bricklayer. He built and designed the house he and Carolyn lived in for 57 years. He loved spending time with his family enjoying every moment. Some treasured times were watching the Chicago Bears and Boston Celtics, fishing, playing pool, and making model cars. Gordon will be remembered for his loving patience with everyone and his artistic brickwork featured in projects throughout the greater Omaha area.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carolyn; daughters Kim Potts and Andrea Foutch; grandchildren Jaclyn Potts Sullivan, Joel Potts and Andrew Johns; great granddaughter Piper Sullivan; many other family and friends.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley / Sedgwick, Kansas. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be given in his memory to the Salvation Army.
