VALLEY CENTER
Glenna (Carnahan) Miller,
89, lifelong resident of Valley Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, July 28, 2014 following a short illness. She was born July 4, 1925 to Glenn and June Carnahan, the first of three children. A 1943 VCHS graduate, she married Fred Miller in 1947. That union produced two children, Shelli Miller and Mark (Sandra) Miller, both of Valley Center. A devoted, full-time mother, she did seasonal work outside the home, ran a small daycare for a few years, and helped her husband with Fred Miller Realtors until 1981. Since then she had overseen a small number of rentals in Valley. A humble servant of God, she was nearly always an active church member and known for putting others' needs before her own. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred (2001) and beloved brother Bob (2008). Survivors include her two children and daughter-in-law, loyal sister Patricia Goolsby, three grandchildren: Emily (Jordan) Gonzalez, Jacob and Whitney Miller, and quintessential handyman, Tom Bade. Vistation with family is set for 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3 at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 4 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 402 N. Commercial Ave, Sedgwick. Memorials may be designated to the Church (P.O. Box 138, Sedgwick, Ks 67135) or Samaritan's Purse (P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607). Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
