GEORGE JOHN MARTIN, 81, retired Beech Aircraft Electrical Engineer, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016. He was born at Welda, Kansas to Wilson Marion Martin and Christiana Lovina Subina (Brubaker) Martin. He was a graduate of Welda High School and received his Bachelor's from Kansas State University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sadie Martin of the home; children John T. Martin of Park City, Dale Martin (Wendy Griswold) of Memphis, Tennessee and Kathleen Martin of Wichita; brothers Frank (Betty) Martin of Texarkana, Texas, and Kenneth (Freida) Martin of Baldwin City, Kansas; sisters Lola Amend of Lyons, Velma Pretzer of Garnett, Ella (Richard) Thacker of Lecompton, Elsie Menefee of Alden, Marietta Martin of Wichita, Sarah Hartpence of Texas; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Edna Hazen, brothers Edgar Martin and Harold Martin. Visitation 9 a.m., followed by Service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, at Kechi United Methodist Church, 4533 E. 61st N., Kechi, Kansas. Graveside following the service at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
